Dalek

Tynach ought to like this one. The screws in the center of the fender panels are temporary, I just haven’t duplicated them and placed them in the panel corners yet.

BTW, the is what is known as an NSD, or a ‘New Series Dalek’. If you’ve missed the Doctor Who reference entirely, shame on you. :stuck_out_tongue:

I love drwho

Looking good so far… and surprisingly similar to a Dalek I tried to model, which failed miserably. Anyway, I’m keeping an eye on this one.

Looking good so far! I can’t wait to see how this turns out!!

Looks good man, cant wait to see more!

Looks really good, what did you use as a reference?

I’m using some PDF plans from projectdalek.com. I’d post a link, but you have to be a member of the forum to get access to the plans. There is also a series of video tutorials for making an NSD in Cinema 4D that I’m finding very helpful.

I’ve started work on the shoulder section. The gun boxes are just cube-shaped placeholders at the moment.

More progress on the shoulders.

Wow that is just awesome! I know of folks who are hooked on the show and am going to forward this this link!

Its looking very nice. I think you can open the head cover also.

I’m glad you seem to like the results of my efforts so far. Even though the video tutorial on Project Dalek is for Cinema 4D, it has proven to be an invaluable resource so far.

@kkrawl: I’d have to be insane to model it so that it could open. Sorry, I’m just not prepared to put that amount of work into this project. :stuck_out_tongue:

What do you mean have to be? as far as i can determine, you ARE insane, go onnnnn you know ya want to! It couldnt take as much effort as making that stargate did, and you managed that pretty effectivly.

Apart from my own desire to see you take on another a massive project, it looks good so far, the indentation at the front on the shoulder section looks abit to smooth. Look at it on this pic, http://www.daleklinks.co.uk/media/40013/emperors-guard-dalek.jpg. Thats really the only thing i can see at the moment. Keep it up, i cant wait to see this.

PS gooooo ooooonnnnnnnnnnnn!:eyebrowlift:

Ok, yeah I am insane, but I’m still not going to make it openable. Sorry. I appreciate the enthusiasm, though.

I don’t understand what you mean about the indent.

The gun boxes are now complete.

Here is a close up showing a bit more detail on the gun box. Sorry about the AO artifacts around the edges of the detail plate.

Looks awesome man! This is getter better and better all the time! Can’t wait for another update!

Looking good, but shouldn’t the vent-things on the side of the gun boxes be less rounded?

I don’t think so.

The shoulder slats are done now.

ok i am absolutly loving this. Its coming along really well and i so cant wait to see this finished. After im done with my Troll WIP i might have a go at a dalek actually. Would it be possible for you to download your refs and share them?
