Dark 'shadow' on object when rotating around it in sculpt mode. Not talking about the oultines

Hi! So I have suddenly gotten a, what looks like a dark shadow, grainy, on my object when rotating around it in sculpt mode. The ‘shadow’ (looks grainy) moves around on the object while I am rotating it. I am not talking about the outlines of the object.
What could it be ? could it be that my settings changed when I updated to the new version ? Or did I do something ? I also had some other changes that I managed to find the solution to, but I can not find the solution to this one as I dont understand why it suddenly has this ‘shadow’. I have tried checking and unchecking a few things but nothing seems to fix it. I am sculpting in solid mode btw and in matcap. This ‘shadow’ does not appear in object mode.

It would help if we could see the mysterious shadow in a full screenshot of the interface, and not have to imagine it.

That is strange …A wild guess have you checked for duplicate geometry or un-connected faces ( faces that look joined but didn’t merge…I can see Vertex Pinching and edge Pinching…but the images are too small to get a good look at them…

Can you open a New Blend File append that mesh to the new file and see if it re-occurs?

Sharing the Blend File would also be a great help…as well as the version of Blender…

I don’t think it is unmerged vertices as it was fine before I got the newest version two days ago. I have been working on this hand for a few days and it didn’t have this shadow or reflection or what it is before. The pictures maybe were not clear enough so I attached a video now.
This shadow or reflection or what it is, only happens in sculpt mode and not object mode.
I can sculpt just fine but it’s a bit distracting while I’m working on it.
I also wonder if I could have done something myself before I closed the program. I tried copying the objects and paste into a new one and it did the same thing.

And btw I know it isn’t perfect yet. It’s my first blender hand

I don’t know how they would have gotten there, but those do look like pinch points, especially on the palm. Have you tried recalculating normals?

Can you upload the file?

The file is too big so I will try to cut it into smaller ones

You can also upload it somewhere like google drive and share the link if you want.

IMO it is duplicate geometry. I know you say it’s not, but that is definitely what it looks like.

I hope it is a little more clear on these short videos. I couldn’t make them longer

That is going to be difficult to check with this high polygon count  I will look into it tomorrow

You don’t think it is something else on the video ?

Thanks for having a look into it. I really appreciate this community.

Ok, that is pretty weird. I have never seen that. Try ‘reset vectors’ in the mesh menu I believe.

Ok. I will look into that. Thanks for trying to help.

Do you think I should maybe ask one more time in this forum and see if someone else sees it with the videos attached this time? Or is it the same people responding each time? I’m not sure how it works here, I’m relatively new on this forum  just hoping I Can solve this issue  :crossed_fingers:

Chances are good that people will see the update.

Also, since it looks to be very dense, you might want to retopo it, which will probably fix the issue as well.

I will check all these things tomorrow and let you know if it works
