I made this awhile ago for a contest with a theme of “My Favorite Place”. I probably will not change this project, so here it is. The music is Liquid Tension Experiment’s Universal Mind.
First of all - nice idea and pretty well implemented, well done!! I especially liked the camera shot swirling around that statue thing (at the start) - really gives a good sense of going into a dream world.
Some C&C:
- IMO the first shot last for just a little too long (that might just be personal taste)
- There seems to be some weird jump in aspect ratio or something at about the 5second mark just after the camera starts moving.
- The underwater effect was pretty good (perhaps the caustics were moving a little too fast but that kinda moved with the music), but the fish’s movement was a little too stiff and you could’ve used camera shots that weren’t tracking the fish to add some interest.
- Apart from those things really cool camera work up in the sky although it was a bit disorientating at times.
- The only other thing was the wings of the flying pigs. I know they’re not meant to be animated realistically but I think their movement was a bit strange - not sure how you would improve that!Anyway, I guess you probably won’t be improving this anymore. You should be proud of this - its a brilliant idea and you’ve done some cool animation/camera work.
First of all thanks. The thing about the “weird jump in aspect ratio or something at about the 5 second mark just after the camera starts moving” was the jump from a picture to an animation and the program I was using to mix it together did that. Also the “statue thing (at the start)” was supposed to be a bird bath type thing. The pig’s wings were meant to be in a cartoon style.
Nice one, the music is awsome and the concept is interesting. However there are some things that could be better, mainly the camera animation and composition. At moments it was shaky and disorientated, it was too fast at some points, for example when passing by the “things” in the sky and the objects in the gallery. I might be wrong, but it seems to me that the viewer gets to see too many empty skies and gallery walls, instead of the interesting models. There were some great models in the gallery, especially that sphere thing, too bat the movement of the camera wasn’t as good thought out as it could be…
Oh, i just checked out your abstract museum, so this is where you used it…ha…
