This is a very simple scene I did in a night of insomnia.
I was trying to distance myself a bit away from the usual realistic stuff, so I experimented with something more abstract.
The colors and the harsh texture of the image comes from a simple model of a quick liquid sim plus some manual sculpting, the material is a highly reflective metallic surface with bump lines radiating from the center of the scene.
The high contrast between two lights gives this nice metallic feeling.
Then I make a second render with an extremely low f stop and a high anamorphic ratio to get a cloudy image for the background.
The rest is some hardcore compositing and a bit of hand painting. Hope you like it.
