decimator?

Hi guys,

I need to reduce the vertex count on a mesh i have made, and after looking around a bit i found out about the decimator. But its not there. Im using blender 2.42a and when i press F9 there is just a space where the decimator should be. Has it been moved or what?

it’s a modifier now. same drop down menu as the subsurf one.
