What’s your render time for the default cube scene? Mine’s 00:04.90 on a 4-year-old Dell laptop, Blender 2.49 on Ubuntu 10.04.
It takes about 1.3 seconds on my desktop which is a Dell Studio with an Intel quad core processor and 6 gigs of memory.
Render-times can eat your lunch, especially if you use “the Big Red Render Button” and the usual defaults.
My laptop is about 1.8 seconds, and it has a single core 2.1 ghz and 3 gb ram geforece 8200… and last time I checked, I believe it was about .3 seconds on my desktop, quad core phenom 3.2 ghz processor, 4 gb ram, radeon 4870.
2.42 seconds on my dual core 1.6 GHz processor.
2.82 seconds on my fedora (linux) pentium 4 2.66 GHz, 2gb RAM. Had (practically) nothing else open though.
3.95 Seconds on a 3 1/2 year old Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop. Blender 2.54
1.14, intel core i5 Fedora Linux
00.00.29
Using a 6 year old Toshiba at the moment. Pentium 4 (hyper-threading) and with 3 background programs running.
Could you post time with 4 background programs running?
About 2.8 seconds in my computer. 1.6 Ghz single core, 1GB RAM, Windows XP SP2 & 1 background program running…
00.00.43, Windows vista 4GB ram
I don’t get that notation? does that mean 0.43 secs, or 0.0043?
0.43, sorry, thats how it shows it in the blender window.
Well, it looks like I’m the absolute slowest around here lol
Some times, especially pixelmass’s, are instantaneous compared to mine! That makes me worried about rendering more complex scenes…
Ohhh …
Well my render window says 1.83 secs, but it feels like a little more when I see it
00:00.76 with 5-6 apps running under windows 7
Blender 2.54 beta = 2.4 seconds
Blender 2.49b = 0.8 seconds
…out of the box defaults.
This from Ubuntu Linux 10.04-LTS on Dell Precision M6300.
Thus far it looks like I’m the second fastest, what do you have to say about vista now!
@Inferno: I have to say, that you’d be the 1st if it wasn’t for Vista LOL (I still hate it, & windows 7 too XP)
