Deform mesh without any modifier or shapekey: how is it possible? (sample file attached)

This is a mesh created by an addon called X-Muscle System.

I can drag the control point (an empty) around, and the mesh will deform along with it.

But it doesn’t have an armature or any kind of deform modifier. Actually, I removed all the modifiers/shapekeys/vertex groups. And I uninstalled the addon itself. But it still works! What’s the magic behind it?

Mesh is the child of an hidden bone that supports a stretch constraint.
The armature XMSL_Muscle_System.L is the controller on the right.
You did not suppress the armature. So it is still influencing the mesh.

This is where I lost. I’ve removed every modifier from the mesh’s modifier stack. If even that doesn’t suppress the armature, I’m not so sure what modifier stack is for…

Your mesh is parented to a bone that have stretch/scale constraint so it changes by heritage.
have a look in object pannel, you ll discover who is driving it.
But anyway, this file is a f…ng mess after that you use the muscular system and remove it after.
there is a lot of custom properties left behind and ghost script for interface…
I don’t know what is your project with it… but, better restart from scratch.

Thank you. I actually found X-Muscle System is pretty useless and removed it. I just want to know how it works. Now I’ve figured it out.
