Regarding the rubix cube… one of the tiles is missing… Is there any reason for that?

I like em  now you can come look at my nessie

The Rubik’s Cube does not look like that. All the squares should be exactly equal in size.

I thought the Rubix cube was a bit sticky-outy in terms of the tiles. Aren’t they meant to be flat surfaces? Don’t mind me; I’ve been watching The Pursuit of Happyness lately and noticed the difference between a real cube and yours  and the UFO looks like a squished up pancake to me, but both of them are exceptionally good first-tries.

There are quite a few ways to get precise measurements for this. You shouldn’t need to do any guess work. There is tutorial of a dice somewhere which looks at this problem. Do a google search for ‘dice, tutorial, blender’, and you should find it. Let me know if you can’t.
But yeah, you are getting better

I meant by a first at modelling :stuck_out_tongue: Did you use a manual for that or did you “make it up” as you went along?

lol I did this also. I think the only inorganic thing I’ve ever modeled was a light post for my charectors to walk past while I was learning about animation lol. Boy did it look bad lol. But I can model a face with one eye close lol…kk thats a bad joke, but modeling with both eyes closed is pretty much impossible lol.

Made it up as I went along :D… I did have a rubik’s cube on my desk… but thats about it :stuck_out_tongue:
Aha, as a reference you mean? I’m still going through the .PDF of Noob to Pro  I’m looking forward to making my own models and the tutorial on turning a cube (or was it a box?) into a puppy  Did everybody start this way, or is it just me? My progress is being marked here: http://ladyverv.wordpress.com

It doesn’t look like the cube has a shadow… other than that, good work.

Tons of ppl started this way, but not all. My very first model made with a tuturial was a hand, then a face, then a body. Little bit backwards now that I look back at it…but meh lol learning is learning.

:confused:HAve I started something??? Hmmmm…
