Deleting Armitures (or Bones) on Imported DAZ 3D figure into Blender

I have uploaded a Victoria 4.2 figure from DAZ 3D into Blender, and it did successfully import, but the problem is, there are some armatures (or bones) attached to it in awkward places, and I am having a hard time trying to delete them.

Here is an illustration:

How do I delete the armatures (or bones, whatever they are called)?

Moved from “General Forums > Blender and CG Discussions” to “Support > Basics & Interface” (though it may also be appropriate in “Animation and Rigging”)

You should be able to select the armature and Tab into Edit Mode. From there, you can delete any bones you want.

What file type are you using to export from DAZ? If you just want a decent usable armature, in Blender 2.76 .dae is your best choice. If you want to delete the armature then use Alt-P to clear the parent of the body and any clothing items, then select the armature and press X.

I did export to .dae, and I tried the suggestions, to no avail.

The reason why I want to remove the armatures (the grey triangles attached to the figure as shown in my previous post) is so that I can create a custom photorealistic skin. I did find a tutorial on YouTube on how to create such type of skin. Do you suppose I exported the Victoria 4.2 figure the wrong way? If so, what would I have to do in order to export it without the long grey triangles being attached?

Quickest fix, if you just want to do materials; In the “outliner” on the top right, shut off the eyeball next to the “RootNode” object. You can probably just ignore it.
Beyond that, exporting as .obj from DAZ will export just the mesh without any armature.
