Deleting UV maps in the UV/Image editor

I’ve been lurking on elYsium for about a year now, and most of my questions have been answered by searching the forums. But, now I’m stuck, so I’m posing a question.

I’ve mapped several faces in UV Face Select mode into the UV/Image editor. But, they were the wrong faces.

Now, I can’t get rid of them. I’ve tried creating a new blend file, and appending my objects into it, but the selected faces are still there.

All I want - is to be able to delete the mapped faces, and begin again.

I’ve watched and learned much from Greybeards video tutorials, perhaps he has the answer. Are you lurking out there tonight?

Press F9 and locate the button named Tex Face.
Delete.

Does that fix the problem?

which version of Blender do you have? In versions 2.37 and 2.37a, all you have to do to get rid of an unwanted UV is to make a new one.

  1. go to UV face select mode.
  2. press on ‘Standard’ underneath LSCM Unwrap. That will reset everything back to the way it was–it just won’t delete your picture. You have to cut off the link to the datablock.
  3. redo your Seams accordingly.
  4. click ‘LSCM Unwrap’-- you will have a new UV map at your disposal to adjust.

I put up with this problem for quite some time too until I found this methodology to correct my mistakes. Hope this info helps!

Thanks for your help.

Both of the above methods worked for me, but in different ways.

Now, I can move on to RVKs.
