Demo reel character models

Awesome modeling, Mr_Bomb!!!

Apart from your terrific modeling skills I guess that it also takes a lot of knowledge on body and muscular structure to create something like this, right? How did you learn about that, just by reading, self study?

Looking forward for some updates and, of course, your final reel!

I’ve learned anatomy strictly through studying it. I study a lot of other people’s work, particularly the wireframes, along with anatomy books. The main book I use is Anatomy for the Artist by Sarah Siblet. www.3d.sk has also been an invaluable resource.

Very nice work. I also have that same anatomy book (amongst others) and I seem to be collecting more as I go. Which is saying a lot because I havent been much of a ‘book’ person in recent years. Looking forward to more.

Hey, absolutely gorgeous models, major props to you.

I was wondering though, what is your technique from going from low-poly character sketch (as the most recent few) to detailed muscle edgeloops?
Cause that is one nuisance that I have come across. How do you transform them?

I very seldom transform a lowpoly model into a highpoly model. I like to model each of them from scratch, even if it’s from the same concept.

But in the case that you do want to convert a lowpoly to highpoly, the key is to have good edgeloops on your lowpoly model such that you can just add in more loops for the detail.
