Well, I’ve been working with Blender for the past few days, and i’m still new at this blending thing. I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestion’s on what I should do with this piece. I’m trying to create a basic desk in a room next to a window, and this is how far I’ve gotten. It’s looks crappy to me, but I’m going to with it for now, after fixing it up of course, I was wondering what everyone thought I should do?
look try to set smoth to the Tubes or try to sub sur (i prefer the 2º option)
dude follow some tuts from www.blender3d.org
I’ve been following tutorials…and some of the ones on Blender3d.org don’t really help me much, since they don’t have the ones I’m looking for. I’m going to have to make the model again, so I can make everything smoother and smaller of course, well I better get to work.
It doesn’t appear to be able to move, as it’s joints are locked up by the big cylinders of the frame. I suggest making them smaller. Also, instead of having the parts sticking through eachother, you could model joints and put the pieces together so it looks more believable.
Also, is the facetted look what you want? (I see you’ve already found the set smooth button, judging by the foot).
This may sound stupid, but what’s facetted? Also, about the parts coming out of each other, I was moving them in and I guess I must’ve slipped or something while doing it and it poked through. I’m also going to make the lamp a lot smaller, not too much, but smaller. I also want to see about making a computer to the desk as well.
i think he is asking you if you want your lap to have all those flat surfaces making it up or do you want it to be a nice and smooth surface?

The others beat me to it, giving the explanation I mean.

What I mean doesn’t look like an accident:
The parts in the green circles are not possible, in reality. The objects intersect eachother.
Yea, I realize that, but I couldn’t figure out how to get them small enough. I was scaling them down and moving them into position, I guess I must’ve thought it was alright the way it is, when it did indeed look crappy. I’ll make a new one later today.
