well dont want to be left out so here is my destop on this computer right here.
i’ve made a page of all my screenshots (with descriptions and dates) that i could find:
http://www.poljane.net/~hook/gentoo/screenshots/
…i’ll move it to http://www.cyberpipe.org/~hook/gentoo/screenshots/ when i find time …the link’s better there
I’m the only one with the taskbar on top, I’m sooo crazy!
Yeah, I didn’t realize how amazing linux looked. Compared to that, I guess windows does look ugly… :-? But, then again, windows is more widely used, so there are more applications for it…Here’s mine:
nothing special here, just Windows XP with silver theme. :-?
You make me feel…plain.
It’s a great game, I even bought a liscence to encourage them.

Ahem
(it’s enlightenment, in case you were guessing… I don’t know many people who still use this WM, but I love it).
I’m still waiting for e17.
Here’s my old fluxbox-desktop, I’m using Gnome nowadays:

Is it just me or are all Windows-desktops en boring and ugly?
Keep the flame burnin! :D
Dude, KICK ASS desktop. .
Dude, KICK ASS desktop. .
looks like a simple fluxbox with iDesk running pretty transparent icons, then Esetroot to enable the Eterm’s trasparent sessions and at the right-hand corner there’s gkrellm(2) - that’s a pretty simple desktop to make …but i agree it looks pretty nice …i used to use fluxbox too (see my screenshots page a couple posts up)
mmmm… gentoo
argh, im a windows user, and i hate it when people complain about its ugliness. if you search google, theres an easy registry hack you can perform so you can get better desktop schemes like i have on mine…
I don’t know whether you’re crazy or not, but Tsukihime is a great anime
Martin
it is so much easier to theme linux
that said my linux theme is more-or-less default and my windows charcoal colorscheme is based on the one in the sun java swing application demo.
i never said windows WAS easier to theme than linux, i was just saying that people that complain about not being able to theme XP are wrong, and that its not actually that hard.
Mine is not an ugly wind0$& desktop!!
Sorry so big, but that’s as big as it comes!!
btw//linux and wind0$& are both completely different, and I don’t think that any one has a better or ‘prettier’ desktop config from the other.
winXP users can use deskview to get the small desktop icons like I have. I haven’t the foggiest who wrote it, but it is a great app to clean up XP desktop!!
That is just about as ugly as they go.
noone’s saying that winxp desktops can’t be themed - i’ve seen a few quite impressive hack-themes, but since i’ve also been running one (plus that my chipset’s not intel), i’ve also discovered how unstable winxp can get when you hack it too much …well, let’s just say that i haven’t used that account for more then a year now …and i’m pretty happy with my desktop(s)
Slackware 9.1, 2.4.22 kernel and Fluxbox 0.1.14
I’m usually good at making the desktop pose for the camera, but this time it’s just looks messy… but I promise you my desktop is VERY functional :)… hotkeys galore
I don’t know whether you’re crazy or not, but Tsukihime is a great anime
Yes, and to think it was based off a popular sim. game in japan!
Mine’s craptacular… I only use about 5 of the icons that are on it…
Oh yeah, heres my PC too

And i just majorly changed my mac around a bit. Running Panther now.
