Destructive Extrude [BETA]

(obsurveyor) #101

Check out the last selection for the last extrude, when it gets selected, there’s an overlapping edge that is not highlighted(selection does not go all the way around). What if you try a Remove Doubles first and then do it again with the original value on line 166.

this problem in my offset of vertices before separate.
in the future I will use “offset edge” from “mesh extra tool”

It is simply default cube with two subdivisions. Here step by step:

A clarification. I’m just a hobbyist user of Blender, I have no money to make donations. Just testing this addon, and seeing if I can be useful this way. So you do not feel obligated to answer me or satisfy my feature requests

@obsurveyor, I’m not sure, I think this looks like this because I’m in face selection mode, not vertex selection.

Edit:

Ah, ok.

(Darcvizer) #104

Of course!

Please try new update i chenge vertex offset

Hi.
The previous example with side faces works. But you can see that here something weird happens:

Edit:
I have also noticed that behavior changes depending on the coordinates of the object.

You do destructive extrude on selected face in left Cube. Then the same in cube on the right (center in blender coordinates). Anyway I am not sure here about the requirements of the addon regarding transformations, object origin, pivot, etc.

(Darcvizer) #106

I do not understand where you are taking these problems

Hi

Does that mean that you can not reproduce the problem with my file?

Sometimes I have problems randomly with this file too. But it behaves somewhat different from my file. Tomorrow I will analize what the differences between the two files are to see why they behave differently.

(Darcvizer) #109

Your file is also working poorly for me

Send me a personal message with your config please. I think the problem is in it

Hi Darcvizer.
The thing is that using factory settings in blender, destructive extrude in default cube is acting more like my file, than your file. That is, I rename “2.79” folder in my user blender config folder to start with factory settings, then install destructive extrude and apply in default cube with subdivide 2 times.
Could you confirm me if with blender factory settings destructive extrude acts like it does in my file?
So then, it could be the configuration that you use making it act differently.

Edit:
Sorry, I meant to subdivide the cube one time, with 2 cuts. Like cube in my file.

(Darcvizer) #111

Seems I have found one of the problems. The thing is that the offset edge doesn’t work well with one edge. @YAFU has made an example where one edge moved. So probably this is the issue. I’ll do my best fixing it in the nearest future.

Thank you!

(Darcvizer) #119

It remains to compensate for the position of the mouse, I have not yet figured out how to do it
