Started mucking about with Wings3D and made these dice. Materials and rendering done with Blender, of course.
And here’s the “cage”:
Those look really nice!
You should really model somesort of gameboard on which those dice lay on
maybe raytracing would b interessting, for this image
bod_dog: I have no idea what Wings3D is, but I gather it’s not a ray tracer… I really thought it was. It’s really very nice. I guess that’s yet something else to learn.

No, Wings is just a modeling program (and a very nice one at that).
I still like Blender for the final render since (as I tried to show in this picture), it can give nice looking and fast results with just simple light setups.
Damn dude…nice.
Maybe Blend up a hand to throw those dice?
make them have weird numbers, like “7” and “11”, and “3 ½”
.b
And definetely with dots (that 3½ would be groovy)
I just need to figure out how to make dots for numbers like “pi” (4.14159…) and “e” etc. Now that would be something!
…this bugged me… i had to point it out… pi starts with a 3… 3.141592653583 and so on…
No it doesn’t. It starts with crust
Me and my fat fingers… must be from all the pie…
nice work!! i quite enjoyed the nice lighting!!
the ground could sue a little work however.
Great now we’ve got a lawsuit on our hands. Why would the ground sue a little work? lol
The dice are very nice and I like the simplicity of the mesh. Its very nice to see something that looks detailed with so few faces.
looks good…this really has the potential to be photorealistic even without a raytracer
Yeah, that 3.141592653583 CAN be addicting…
WOW!! INCREDIBLE, WORK!!
I’v, never seen such, bewelled edges b4!!11
And incredibly hard, 2do, in Wingz!! Very , GR8!!
