Did blender 2.8 rewrite folder 2.79?

I don’t understand something, during installation, version 2.8 overwrites the installation folder 2.79?

Correct, when you run the installer, it writes to the same folder in your program files directory

Sheer madness. More like a pest virus. I do not need only 2.8, I need 2.79 more, so that at the moments when I stop spitting from 2.8, I can calm down and continue to work in a normal blender.

Have to download again 2.79

I am glad that the folders for add-ons are separated by version.
Why, by default, the blender does not create a folder for the new version in the program files folder?

I never use the installers. I get the zip file, extract them all to separate folders and the respective settings folders get created in my user area. I have 2.75, 2.76, 2.78, 2.79 2.80 and 2.81 all happily sat side by side.
