Difference in Object & Edit Mode when mirroring

Hello everyone. I have been in Blender for a few days and am having a blast so far. I am attempting to model a very simple space ship and have been using the mirror tool to keep everything symmetrical. The problem is that if I drag a vertices in edit mode the mesh will movements will mirror correctly on the opposite side, but the vertices on the opposite side stay put. Everything also looks symmetrical in object mode too.

In the end the mesh is what matters, but it’s just a little bit of a pain while in edit mode. See images:

Ok Here too

I appreciate any help!

Upload your blend file to http://www.pasteall.org/blend/ and tell us the download link

i think it might be because you have a whole mesh overlapping itself.

i noticed that you dont have this thing seleced, but we can still see the verteses on both sides of he mesh.

click the eye icon. if you still see a full mesh, delete one of the halfs, and re-enable the eye icon.
if half of the model disapares when you click the eye, please submit the blend file so we may have a closer look.

That was it! I figured it was something simple. Thanks!
