Digital Art Show in Kingsport, TN, USA

The Kingsport Art Guild, (Kingsport, Tennessee, USA) is again hosting the digital art show in the Main Gallery of the Kingsport Renaissance Center, November 27 to December 22. A reception will be Sunday December 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with refreshments and several demonstrations provided by 2D and 3D digital artists. For more information visit http://www.byronsdesigns.com/digitalShow.html . The show is open to any and all digital artists and is not limited to Blender, although, last year the majority of entries were created in Blender.

The purpose of the show is to showcase the work of artists from around the world, who work in the digital media, to those who may be familiar only with traditional arts. Many of the viewers last year do not work with digital media and really gained a new appreciation of what is possible in this new media. Some of the entries of this year’s show, became involved with digital media as a result of last years show.

Last year’s show had representation of 8 countries. This year we hope to have entries from many more countries. Last year we had no judging, but this year we will have 2 judges! One judge will judge based on technical aspects, and one on artistic aspects. This year will not have cash prizes however. We had no entries last year from Africa or Asia, but encourage entries from these continents as well. The Art Guild has appropriated funds for the printing of images sent in by email. The images will be printed on 11 by 17 inch card stock.

Deadline for electronic entries is November 15, 2008. Deadline for hand delivered prints will be on November 26, 2008.

Last years show can be viewed at http://www.paraisoenterprises.com/ArtShow.html .
