Digital Vid and 3D...need help putting the 2 together

Putting 3D together with 2D seems weird to me when I actually try to do it. For me, the tutorial on upperfold.com just isnt big enough.

Anyone have any tips or links to bigger tutorials. My focus is on the general side instead of things like explosions and such until I get the hang of things.

Any help is appreciated.
