Nice dinosaur rig.

That was pretty entertaining, though I’m not sure if I really understood if you were making a religious point, or something? And why the Kajimba dude at the end?

I really enjoyed it though. You have excellent skills at character animation. The movements of the characters are really fluid and enjoyable. (Same for your other characters from what I could tell on your website.)

However your lighting and texturing seem really poor. I don’t mean they’re terrible, it’s just that, with such nice character animation, your animations really deserve some great lighting and textures!

Keep it up! I also really liked this other animation thing you seem to have made. Once again, really good character animation, really loopy (but enjoyable) plotlines, less than stellar lighting and texturing.

Look forward to more from you!

Hey! I saw your website, you are a programmer with some artist instincts, guess we are on similar field. Thanks for your comments.

Definitely texture and lighting can be improved. I always try to find new ways to improve them keeping rendering and developing time at a minimum. You know a great texture made out of many layers can be time consuming at render time. I don’t know if you have experience animating, but creating light and textures for a still is quite different than for an entire animation (thinking of time VS money). Different camera’s angle may make all look out of mood, needing additional settings for light rigs with Ipos. ( it depends of the magnitude of the project to include UV maps etc) My auto deadline is 12 hours modeling-rigging-skinning and texturing one character…after that time I start to stress out!)so texturing is always at the end…two cloud textures and one musgrave parented to an empty should be enough…the poor result shows later with the critics…ha ha) For example the castle is made out of only one cloud texture, the color is taken from an areaLamp that has a cloud texture as well…so not even material settings! Render time 7.5 secs/frame)

Also most of the animations I make are later embedded in Flash code…(no excuse anyways…)–Hope to meet a soul able to do texture miracles with only few layers and no much time, I guess that could be a good solution for the future.

When I start a project I keep in mind, developing time, money, productivity, and that old said: simpler is better than complex, however there is always a price to pay, unfortunately.

Look at these 2 frames:
