DirectX model - Hollow cylinder rendered partly invisible

I have to make a hollow beaker (a transparent one), well everything was fine in blender, it rendered right. But after exporting to .X format it renders quite differently, only front wall is visible…I may be using Dark GDK or DirectX SDK alone, so kindly tell how to solve this.
Along with that I noticed some changes occur when exporting to .X (like transparency, it wasn’t transparent at all, I had changed RayTrace alpha to 0.1 following a tutorial), why so?
