As it is necessary to run blender, there is nothing you can do. Why would you want to end the exe anyway?
I presume Sanch24 is referring to the little console window that launches the main progam.
There is, sometimes, useful error information in there. But I can’t say I disagree that it’s a little annoying to have two taskbar slots taken up by one program. I mean, it’s like, totally unimportant given the value Blender brings to the table, but you know, just sayin’.
An option to “hide” the console window would be nice, since it is quite necessary for figuring out what you’ve broken when scripting.

Hello,
Thanks to all that have replied. As far as why one want to disable blender exe from running, you wouldn’t. The question was posed to me by a technician from a school ill be teaching at. It was stated to me that the Blenders exe. "runs in the background, and how do you disable it? I’ve always understood the console window to be the exe. portion of blender. Based on my experience, there’s no way to close it while not shutting down blender in the process. From a technicians standpoint, why would running the exe. file be a problem? Memory usage? Security issue? I don’t see the issue.

this window is open each time you run blender
it is use to show errors in blender or when you write script and run them
so it is an independant window but it is usefull !

Quoted for agreement.
“Blender.exe” includes both the console and Blender’s main window.
I don’t see how the console could take up that much space (memory-wise). Maybe its just phobia? I know for a fact that many people truly fear windows with black backgrounds and text in them. You ought to be able minimize or hide it.
Thanks to all replies. Sorry…I did mean the console window, and actually I use it often during renders. Your points are well taken. Thank you all for your patience and input.

Hi egan,
Thanks for your reply.
-“Blender.exe” includes both the console and Blender’s main window.-
That is exactly what i thought, which is why there seemed to be a disparity about what the “exe.” part refers to.
I think you may be right about this. When you think about it, what is the console window. Isn’t it just a command line program that produces details about blender’s internal working network? It tells you what’s going on inside blender. Considering how innocuous it is, I think the issue may be linked to security/administrative concerns rather then aesthetic or pragmatic. I’ve always been able to minimize the window, so I’m not what the real issue is then. I should know more in a few days. Until then much thanks to all.

Remember that a “console” is different from a “command prompt” or a “terminal” in that it doesn’t take input; it only displays output. So there really can’t be a security problem with the console.
