I’ve had this problem before in that the layer viewer disappers form the control panel and everything that was on a seperate layer goes with it for instance layer 2. When this happend before I somehow corrected it, I just don’t know what I’ve done to cause this I’m sure it’s somehthing simple but I can’t for the life of me figure out what!! :-? .Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
you split the window and you made one side of it so big that the panel didnt fit completely

did you hit the forward slash key on your number pad? ‘/’
this activates local view mode and only the active object becomes visible. The layer chooser on the 3d window header disappears as well.
press that key again to get out of local view mode.
Yup, problem solved it was the ‘/’ key on the num pad ,I knew it had to be something simple. Thanks alot for the quick reply.
