Displacement-map out of blender sculpting

Is it possible to create a high-res displacement map out of blender 2.5 sculpting?
is this feature planned?

There is the texture baking feature, which should work. However, vector displacement maps would be nice and likely rather easily generated from multires.

The baking function was not in the 2.5 Alpha0 download. For baking in 2.5 you need to have build 25612 or later. Download recent builds from http://www.graphicall.org/builds/
