Ok i’ll cut to the chase my displacement mapping doesn’t work when used in conjunction with uvmapping. displacement mapping does work when used with a procedural texture though.
I don’t think i’ve missed anything i’ve done everything i have tryed turning off colour in the texture settings aswell with no differnce turning up the displacement slider jsut makes the front jutt out more like it already is which i do not want it to do this is a test im trying to do a brick texture but its p*****g me off, you know how these things do, i have tryed a brick texture one but it does the same as this is i just wonder if i’ve missed anything my nor slider is down to 0 aswell it just doesn’t want to play ball.
You just needed to add that UV Texture as an Image Texture (you had ‘None’ in the texture slot although you had the mapping right). I turned down the Disp value and set it positive which you can change back again.
ok thanks silly me i thought i tried that and it wouldn’t show up the bits i wanted to be on a certain part right ohwell thanks a lot.
Thanks
Reaper
thing is what happens if i just want it to displace and not have the colour etc from the image even when col is deslected edit* turn off texface works it i think thanks
it still doesn’t uv map the displacement map though :S ohwelli guess i can get by but if you know why give us a shout please
you cna turn it off using col tab but its already turned off and it shos up so i turn off texface but that means that the uv mapped imae is not used and the other one is therefore it cant be using the uv mapped one becuase evwn if i get rid of the image on the uv editor it still shows up.
