Display wireframe, working in 2.79 but not in 2.9?

Hi Hello, im new to Blender and i noticed following some tutorials that sometimes some useful viewport overlays are missing in 2.9… is this just me not knowing where to look, a bug or is this a “feature”?

my problem as you can see is that 2.79 shows wireframe, 2.9 does not… am i just missing a check box somewhere?

sry if this is an topic already covert, i did try to google first…

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately it is not quite the same, if you see in this clip below, the wireframe is only visible when the object is selected…your solution keeps the wireframe visible when the object is unselected.

I wonder if this been a weighted decision by the developers… love to hear some feedback on this.
