Displaying text

In my game I want to display the points scored by the player. Points is a int property of a certain cube. It changes during the game. How can I do that?

You can leave the property as an integer, just be sure it’s name is “Text” (This will make sense after you read the tutorial)

Thanks a lot mate.

But this method looks quite hard…Can’t I just Add>>Text and tell it to get whatever value of the “int” property I mentioned before. (Using something like logicbricks and/or python) B’coz if we could do it that way no need for UV mapping and other stuff. We can just use any font installed. Anybody know how to do it that way? (Any method to display updating text)

Unfortunately, this is the only way to do it in the game engine. I hope that in the future it becomes possible, but it’s not yet.

You can use any font you want if you use FTBlender. You can download it from the link at the bottom of this post. There’s downloads for Linux and Windows at the top of the page:
