Hello,
I was wondering if there is any initiative on creating a seti@home alike rendering farm on which users can spend their spare CPU cycles. I’ve tried to google on this, but couldn’t find anything.
The way I see it is:
- User registers to network
- User makes an animation which will distribute the .blend file to registered users which are idle
- User retrieves rendered images from above mentioned users
To safeguard against forever taking renders (eg. too complex) one could say that the rendering of one image should happen within a certain time period. To guard against malice, one could send the same job to two users and then compare.
Hope this makes sense.
Yours,
