If you’re too lazy to read that, the impression I got (I was too lazy to look into it thoroughly) was that it’s something like bittorrent for webpages. Just append .nyud.net:8090 to the hostname before a path (like https://blenderartists.org.nyud.net:8090/forum/viewtopic.php?p=282910#282910 ), and it loads through the distributed webcache instead of directly from the server. Of course, I might be completely wrong about the bittorrent resembalance, but its my guess.
