Dividing by Zero

Hey everyone,

So I decided to look up black holes today after reading a book on the subject. Here’s what I created. Tell me what you think!

Honestly, I don’t see that much. Unless I’m wrong, I see some simple primitives with HDR images on it. Nice ambiance though.

Looks pretty cool, maybe we could see some wires

Its a bit plasticky , You need to turn the specularity to 0 ,recalculate your nolrmal , use the uv editor to tweak your image.,good attempt assuming your a noob.

What are you talking about? This looks awesome! Try to turn off your 3d eye and imagine it was real… It looks like a black hole I find… I find it stunning!
Does it really matter if these are simple primitives? What counts at the end is the final product…
I think the specularity makes it look a lot cooler, reminds me a bit of matrix, I don’t know why…

I basically sculpted some primitives, and created the effect through an environment map and other textures. I thought it looked a bit dim so I turned off the shading.

Also, the ‘specularity’ is probably a result of the environment map because all of the lamps had specularity disabled. Maybe I added a lamp and forgot to disable it (if that was good or bad, haha) :stuck_out_tongue:

And JayDez, here’s the wire frame. It wasn’t really much but why not?
