Divx Decoder

DivX Decoder… where can I get that latest and greatest? I can’t seem to watch some videos :frowning:

go here: http://www.divx.com

Up to version 5.0.2, i think. Comes with the Playa so you can watch Divx movies too. MS Media player does not support Divx anymore.

Good to know.

I run Win '98 and 2000 and hope to never go XP or “higher”. Every time my firewall tell me that Media Player wants to access the internet, it pleases me greatly to deny it the permission. Hence I can play Divx 5 on my Media Player version 7.01 after installing the codecs from www.divx.com.

(Insert here insults to Gates and all. Hard to come by with truly innovative ones now.)

I got a decoder from www.divx.com once but I had to watch commercials before seeing the actual movies… aweful… is there another one there and I didn’t realize it?

Vidigiani: there is a free version of the player and codec that does not require the commercials. I beleive that there are 3 versions at divx.com that you can download:

  1. The free version
  2. Advanced version - requires you to view commercials, but has some additional features
  3. Full blown version that you must pay for.
