Started this project couple of years ago actually, before i started contributing code to blender even. Texturing and lighting are not fully finished, also some more details could be modeled and some compositing added…
Unfortunately, doubt i’ll have time to finish this project. That/'s why considering it’s finished from my side. Hope someone will find this model useful.
Publishing render from main camera here and blend file could be found there.
As always, have a nice day!
P.S. Please, don’t post replies like “<item> is not finished, needs more love”. I really do know all this and really didn’t have any time last couple of months to even open this model in blender.
just kidding of course. Not bad though. If I had any request, it would be that if you ever do continue this piece, to specifically make it into the DeLorean from Back to the Future! No DeLorean is complete without a flux capacitor! ;p
Ah the De Lorean ! such a great design
Solid and accurate modelling, thanks for sharing, if you find some time in the future do it justice with a nice shading and render!
I had a quick try with Sergey’s file and ported it to Cycles.
But I’m sure it can still be improved!
Maybe someone finds the time to put this Delorean of our beloved tracker developer Sergey into a nice camera tracked scene?
I snuck into the seat of one of these at a car show when I was 10…shh, naughty me.
Ever since the movies, I’ve always wanted to roll up in a DeLorean just to show off. =D
As for the model, the modelling itself is pretty well done, I’d say, though I’d prefer to see more detail in the seat upholstery, especially. But, c’est la vie. =) The shading is definitely the weak spot in the composition, as you’ve already stated, though. It doesn’t do your car justice at all! You’ve done all this great modelling. =( We gotta give it an environment to live in. Perhaps a dingy industrial wasteland/commercial park? Or perhaps a nice country inn in the background. Just type into Google: “equirectangular background image” and find a crazy high resolution background to slap into the world settings in Cycles. Voila! =D Wow, what’s with the French today?
Some references for materials and some compositional set-ups which may give some ideas!
Yeah, pretty suck in texturing and really suck in lighting. I’m just a hobbyist who was doing some renders just for fun after all As for modelling it was ambitious idea of modelling every single detail. Which ended up fixing some bugs…
I do hope i’ll have time to do some more modelling, just not sure how far i’ll go and just wanted to share .blends so other could have some fun
