Doctor's clinic

Hey there guys here’s a setup I’m doing for the university I work for, which will be an animation of a doctor’s surgery, but need some fresh eyes to look at it (I know theres still some work to go ie like some objects are floating and the blinds are showing when they shouldn’t be). So feel free to comment away…

No comments for a reason?

Looking good! Maybe no comments becouse there is not much to critique, assuming you where not going for “photoreal”
Perhaps some more objects/books on the shelves?

It’s nice, the legs have a texture problem, and the shirt is colliding whit the pants, the sides of the bed looks a little weird, about the rest I think is good enough.

Thanks for that guys. Here’s my updated versions… (The grey in the background will end up being transparent which I’ll then add a background to in Photoshop).

And yeah I noticed that weirdness going on with the character Dr. Caballo. I’ll fix that.

And here’s a first test of the characters conversing in the scene (mind you those architect books will eventually be medical books :P)

You could use the “Clamp Indirect” Setting in the Sampling tab, 5 could be a good number, to reduce the amount of firefies and the noise of the image without incrementing the render samples; you could also check the “No Caustics” option in the light paths, I highly doubt you will need caustics in that scene.

BTW, It looks like you put the bookshelves passing through the wall, if it is not the wall, so, a plane in passing through the books.

Try to give a more natural pose to the books, there are the slim ones separated one by one that are not very “beliavable”.
Agree with Dr Caballo, try to lower the clamp indirect even at 1, if is not enough…
About the placement of bookshelf and desk: i’m not sure it’s the best disposition, imagine alwais getting books behind the printer or opening doors behind the screen or the chairs. Maybe you can modify the desk to something like this: link , to give an idea.

Thanks guys here’s another update with your suggestions, hope my new computer hurry’s up and turns up because I gotta make a decision about whether to render the characters out separate to the background. That’s when I’ll properly setup my rendering settings too, since I’ve just been rendering roughly to get a quick idea of how it’s all looking.
