Does anyone have a better method for transparency gradients?

Hey all, does anyone have a good setup for transparency gradients that don’t cause shadows like this in eevee?

This is default

If you set viewport shadows to Jittered (render always uses Jittered.)

If you want it even smoother you can turn up samples (at the cost of performance). Remember to turn them up in the render settings too.

Edit
I am not an Eevee expert so there could be other settings that help too.

that is 100% the solution, so simple, thank you so much!

I’m still using 4.2.2, so my methods might be obsolete for present day Eevee versions. But to get better quality shadows even without cranking the samples up very high one must usually also go to the settings of each light, and in the settings of each light that one wants to cast smoother shadows, under shadow settings turn on jitter. Then adjusting overblur to be higher usually gives smoother results even with samples at 32 or so. But sometimes it might make the shadows even too soft so that they almost dissappear, especially if the objects casting them are small or thin. But experts say that Eevee is never that good with soft lights.

That setting is still there in the lights, but using it does not seem to do much.
Setting viewport shadows to jitterd and cranking up samples in render prefs seems to work much better.

increasing to 50 samples (diminishing returns past that it seems for this case looks like) and using a shadow filter radius of 2, I also cranked down the resolution limit to .0001 (performance be damned I guess?) for the right image

Yea, unfortunately samples are sort of logarithmic, the more you crank up the more samples you will need for the difference to be notable, this happens in Cycles too, it is the nature of the beast.
