Does Blender Count as a 'Similar Package' on Job Descriptions?

Some jobs say ‘X’ years of experience with Maya or similar package. Would Blender fall under that category? If you knew Blender well would Maya be hard to pick up?

Theoretically yes

And look

If you learnt 1 3d software you learnt 80% of all 3D software

believe it or not the only major difference between C4D,maya,etc and blender is the button placement and some features

you learnt 3d

now just translate what you learnt to a slightly different UI

Bring pretty pictures to back your case.

And just hope they do not read these boards. I’m sure nothing in here would make an employer think otherwise about hiring a blender artist.
