Dof (Depth of Field)

Working on an animation that needs some Dof work.

I see that there is a DOf field under the Camera edit controls, but it doesn’t seem to have an effect when I just set it to a certain number or use the object based Dof function.

If I turn on the limits value, I can see it in the 3D view, but when I render the shot, everything seems to be in focus.

I think there’s something else that needs to be done to get this to work, but I don’t know where to look.

That seems to have worked, but now I’m getting no background with my render.

I have the world color set to pure white, but instead of seeing the ‘white world’ color, I see a black background with the figures on with a white border around them.

Any suggestions?

have you connected the alpha channel of the render layer to the alpha channel of the output node?

Just tried that…

Doesn’t seem to make a difference.

If I add something in the background it doesn’t seem to do it anymore. Only happens when I render the world.
