Dome modeling

How would I go about modeling a dome ceiling? Can I just use the inside of a sphere?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Sure, Just don’t forget to invert the normals. shift>ctrl>N recalculate normals inside.

Can you supply more details as to what you’re trying to accomplish?

As it stands, you’ve answered your own question, I think.

Say I wanted to make a ceiling for a cathedral.

there’s a script that will do that. the one I am thinking of is for a very old version though. there might be a newer one out there. I’ll see if I can find it, maybe I can make you one, if I can remember the command to run a script in that version. ctrl p i think?
(edit) i think it’s called ‘vault’
(edit) heres one that works with 2.4 versions

That add-on may be able to help you, at least with the basic shape.
