Donut shape

I want to make a perfect “donut shape” in blender, and then cut out some parts (like the Windows Media Player logo). I thought I could do it by letting a circle follow the path of a circle, using dupliframes; making dupliframes real, then making the segment, and then cutting it at some places. However, blender says the segment cannot be made. What’s the way of doing it?

Doesn’t 2.44 have a Torus included in the Add>Mesh Menu you caould use? Can’t remember as I’m using 2.43.

Add > Mesh > Torus = perfect donut :eyebrowlift2:

It is also very easily done using the spin tool (under mesh tools in edit buttons)

Thanks, did not find this because I didn’t have Python properly installed… (And because Torus is a script.)
