The movie does rock, can’t wait for this. Although I think I can hear my video card crying already.
well its about damn time!
why cant software dev.s EVER keep a deadline?! And in ID’s case, why cant they ever SET a deadline?!

Man, the graphics in these games just keep on getting better and better, it’s amazing. Thsi game definetly looks pretty cool, but pretty scary too.
If the graphics in games keeps improving at the rate it has been, wouldn’t this result in making games take way longer to finish? Modelers would have to spend way more time modeling the high detail models than the “crappy” models of the old days, so either they’d have to get more people working on it or it would take like a month to model 1 character…
Hopefully the gameplay will live up to the graphics, i’d rather play something fun than something with really good graphics.

can you do better?
If ID can’t SET/keep a deadline, noone bloody can!
they never have, never will keep a deadline. They keep saying “it will be done when its done.” I wish they had spent time on a new idea instead of one that they had already used twice before. Not that I don’t like doom and not that I wont play this one.
can you do better?
I would if I was a software dev, but guess what? I’m not a software dev.
so sue me for being impatient.

What? They havent kept a deadline since doom 1. But then, most popular game devs dont keep deadlines. Probably because they are tired from making other games.
Hmm, you don’t think that as games becomes more advanced that producing time curve also grows?
Also, remember that John Carmack has a much smaller developing team than most other companies. (around 20)
That looks damn good! :o
The only thing is its storyline looks almost exactly like Half-Life’s. Half-Life is one kickass game though, so you’ll hear no complaining from me.
hehe yea…it’s been up for a while now
I made that for interested people:
this game gonna rocks 8)
Eric, I dont suppose they might also consider that when setting a deadline?
Stop making excuses for them.
Carmack is a genious though. And so is his team. Its a shame that he and Ramero are no longer working together. Ion Storm hasnt produced much in the way of a decent game, except Deus Ex, which he didnt really have anything to do with.

i tried the beta, it work fine on my p4 2.4 with a gforce 2 mx400 64mb 4x. 512mb. but it was lagy on smoke, thought the smoke was realy realistic.
I’m sorry, but there have never been any deadline set for Doom3. (not that I’ve heard of)
no they havent. As i think i have mentioned. they have not set one nor have kept one. both which i find annoying. so sue me
I wasnt even that pissed off when i first mentioned this, but now your just annoying me.

Only John Carmack could make such a beatiful game playable on PCs, although I doubt many will have the power to do it.
I will make mine have the power to play it.
it looks amazing.
