Dots appearing when I try to texture paint

Random dots keeps piercing my texture paint strokes whenever I try to paint, this only happens to this part of the model (the other ones seems just fine)

here’s the model and UV:

any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome :tada:

well there is not much model to see… maybe overlapping UVs so you are “doubke painting” ???

You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer.

Hi, it looks like you are painting texture not colour.

I’ve had this problem tons of times before. Your UV Maps don’t seem to be overlapping, per se, but they are extremely close together, as if you left the margins of the UVs at 0. I tried to space apart my UVs with a margin of at least .01, depending on the pixel size of the texture, which of course tends to give you a lot less pixels to work with, but ensures textures don’t overlap in any way and create weird dots like when UV Islands are RIGHT next to each other.

As I’m sure you know, Blender’s UV Mapping and Texture Painting tools are quaint at best, so you do need to do things like space out the UV islands from each other as much as possible while still having a sufficient amount of pixel detail to work with (especially for smaller texture sizes like 1K or 512) to then paint on the textures without too many artifacts or other problems.

(sorry if im doing it wrong)

I don’t think you need to spread them that far apart from each other, but yeah, basically this ensures no overlapping paintings causing weird dots, seams and other artifacts.

If you set it to flat, you can see it in pure color.

If there is no problem with this setting, it is a problem with the display and the first thing you can try is reinstalling the graphics driver.

Since there are various problems related to the graphics driver, reinstalling the driver is a way to try even if there are no problems at the moment.
