Dou you want to recalc normals outside ? of course!

The : recalculate normales outside? dialoge actually goes abit agains the blender’s non modal workflo right ?

i think it should just be applied, what do you think?

sometimes its real handy to have norms on the inside, i.e. the inside of a sewer’s walls, cuz single vert faces are typically 1 sided, especially when modelling game use meshes. Blender rocks, both ways, all ways. Freakin brill program.

TweakingKnobs, I agree with you. Ctrl+NKey and Ctrl+Shift+NKey don’t really need a confirmation pop-up. Although, i leave normals display turned off by default, and if I’m working with solid faces, there’s no visual feedback that the normals have changed. That might be confusing to newbies.

Maybe instead, we change Ctrl+NKey to “Recalculate Normals,” which brings up both options: “Recalc outside,” “Recalc inside.” Maybe add “Flip normals” too. Only one keystroke to remember, there’s some visual feedback, and while it’s still modal, it’s at least simpler.
