Double faces by spin

Hi reader,
(As a beginner) I have a small issue with the following:
I draw a plane that I “spin” into a ring (360 degree 20 steps)
Where both ends come together I remove the double vertices
(from 8 back to 4 as expected)
But there are still 2 faces at that join/welt.
How do I get rid of these double faces that share exactly the same vertices?

Regards,
Andre

Select all vertices and then press w, choose remove doubles from the specials menu that pops up.

Don’t spin a plane – create a plane and delete “only faces” which leaves just the outline of the plane. Spin the outline and then remove doubles. Alternatively you could just delete the interior face (again “only faces”).
GreyBeard

Usually when I spin planes, I spin it, then remove the doubles, then find the interior face and delete it.

Greybeard’s tip works about as well, only minus one step. Man I’ve spun planes into donuts quite a few times over the years and never think of just using a plane outline.

Hazza, this is what I did and when you select the welt vertices you will notice (still) see a doubled face.

I will try the solutions of GreyBeard and Cyborg Dragon
thanks
