Dragonfly Wing

I’ve been working on a 3D reconstruction of a dragonfly wing.
So far it looks like this (excluding the major veins that already have a volume):

Is it possible to give those edges a thickness, similarly to the Bevel option with curves?
I don’t want to convert the mesh to a curve and apply the depth then, because the junctions don’t turn out right.
I want to use the mesh for a FEM analysis and therefore all of the veins have to be connected to each other,
so unfortunately it’s not good enough if only 2 of the 3 veins are connected in junctions as seen in the picture:

try with skin modifier
but with so many edges it might not give a very nice model
then do it piece by piece may be to get nicer overall mesh!

but my PC is sluggish on it !

then you can apply skin
then add a subsurf to get a smoother rounded mesh

for FEM
sorry nature is a bitch!

better look very carefuly to the mesh structure so that i does represent the real thing
if i remember well the membranes between ribs are not flat but somewhat rounded! which can affect the mechanical strenght of the wing

also check if the ribs are rounded or more like an I beam!

happy blendering

Perfect, just what I was looking for! Thank you so much!
And you are right with the membranes, that’s going to be an issue at a later time.
This mesh is flat, but the big major veins that are missing in the file were reconstructed with micro-CT data, so they describe the actual position of the wing. The veins you are seeing right now are going to be rearranged so that they fit the angle of the major veins.

interesting let us know what happen
