"Drawing" shapes within a mesh

I’m modeling a sony PSP, and when i was making it, a very newbie problem came up. How to do arbitrary shapes into a mesh? or how to make holes, but with different shape of a circle, well, this is my problem (look @ the pictures)

You’ll have to delete the faces in the mesh where you want the circle, then in edit mode add a circle in that spot and fill in the faces around the circle.

You can just add cylinders for the buttons on the right and model the arrow buttons on the left.

Do you need to make cuts into your mesh ?
