Blender 2.90 alpha has come. But it isn’t fixed yet.
I am using 2 windows at 2 monitors in Blender. But every time i must click the other window first to use it properly. Blender detects hovering mouse in each monitor but it cant use it. Is it too hard to fix it?
(I use windows10).
So, as far as I know, this is a windowing manager paradigm that has largely been the same on Windows since 3.1 (and possibly earlier). By default, if you want a background window to have focus, you must click it or Alt + Tab
to bring it to the foreground. And you can only have one foreground window at a time.
In other operating systems (Mac OS, GNU/Linux) with other windowing managers, some mouse events can be performed even when windows are in the background or don’t have focus (e.g., scrolling a background window).
Now, in Windows 10, I’ve seen some programs behave similar to other operating systems without changing any settings (I’m pretty sure I can scroll through an Outlook e-mail that isn’t in focus as long as I have another Outlook window in focus, but that may just be Outlook-specific).
If you want to be able to clicklessly bring windows into focus, you can change a setting to automatically bring any window you hover over to the foreground. The instructions to do so can be found here: https://winaero.com/blog/enable-xmouse-window-tracking-windows-10/
If that isn’t what you are looking to achieve, please let me know and I’ll try to help you figure out another solution.
Thank you Hunkadoodle.
I think it’s ok for now.
The winaero software is good for me for the problem. Hovering Over with Mouse option (the speedest setting) solved it.
Also floatingwindows.exe (free software) made life easier when working in blender.
Thanks again
By the way. Floating windows addon for Blender is useful for this kind of work.
