Dubbing sound to video in Blender

It has been a while since I have made a full animation in Blender. Back in the 2.4 days it was not possible to add sound to a video. This had to be done it an external program like Virtual Dub. Is this still the case?
If not I’ll start looking up tutorials. I know you can make the sound file in Blender but I want to know whether the two (sound and visuals) can be merged in the program.

Thanks in advance…John :RocknRoll:

I’ve always been able to add some sound on my animations since I’ve been using blender, you just have to use the video sequence editor.
