Ducati Superquadro

Although the project is not yet finished I decided to post this thing here, because it was like a big project within a project. Modelled in Blender, textured in Substance Painter. rendered in Cycles.

I can find the development of the project here:

I haven’t commented on anything for a while but from a difficulty standpoint this is impressive man. Texturing is spot on as well. Great renders to showcase the engine. I would encourage some additional closeups  Keep going, I’ll be looking for the finished bike.

This is some awesome modelling! the only critique I have is the texturing. I think you overdid the grunge on the engine. The worn edges make it look to me as if it is an engine of a bike that is 10 to 15 years old. The same goes for the corrosion on the aluminum of the engine cases. It gives to me the impression of a badly maintained engine.

Thank you! I hope to finish the rest of the bike within a month, maybe less. The only thing left to do is to finish unwrapping, texturing should be quick. I plan to make an animation showcasing the the design, so stay tuned!

Thank you for the comments, they help me a lot. I see what you mean, and let me explain. I purposely made this “badly maintained engine” decision because I want to show the feeling that this bike is actually being ridden, not just staying in the clean garage and looked at. I think this feeling of being used (dirt on tires, engine, etc.) speaks about the object in a very different way, you look at it like at the fun-machine - essentially what motorcycle is suppose to be. I don’t want it to look just like a beautiful sculpture who’s place belongs in museum. I want it to scream fun!

In the end, its a very easy fix to make it clean, because I keep all my SubstancePainter files, and dirt is just a few layers that can be turned off.

That’s really impressive. love it.

Thank you!

Very good, as they have said.
