Can someone tell me if it is possible to Duplicate an object which has been animated, and then change the IPOs of the duplicate object without affecting the original ?
I’d like to have several identical objects identically animated, but have them performing their actions at different times to one another and in different locations.
Is this possible without manually creating all multiple objects individually ?
alt-d the original to create a clone. In the ME: mesh name, click the single user icon. This makes a new mesh and a copy of all ipos etc named whater.001. you can now do as you please without affecting the original. In fact, you HAVE to edit at least the position of the ipo, otherwise when you animate they will all occupy the same location and physical space, which as we all know, results in a severe disruption of the time-space continuum.
Thanks Roger… I’ve just tried that but it didn’t work
Maybe I should have mentioned… the object I’m animating actually has a load of Hooks, and I’m animating the Hooks. There doesn’t appear to be a Single-User option after duplicating a Hook - is there ??
