Durian = animation and rigging heaven!

I would like to show you guys my approach for selecting controls in my rig. It is a “schematic” on-screen display that pops up underneath the mouse cursor when pressing it’s hotkey (i have it assigned to E). When you release the key, the object under the mouse cursor will be selected. You can then hide the bones and work with only the mesh being visible. I tried to make the gui as small as possible and to require as few clicking as needed.

I hope something like this will be still possible in 2.5. I made it with spacehandlers and the BGL module. It would be great if it was possible in blender 2.5 to display the regular “property” panels on-screen like in my script, to have custom properties right at hand. I really like having things pop up at the mouse cursor and i like on-screen display thingies ( XSI has a nice implementation for example ).
