Dyntopo tests

I’m not as good as python for that ^^

This Triangle Fill addon is exactly what I was looking for, I was creating 2 non-manifold meshes(each cut by a inverted/scaled dulpicate of the other object (bit convoluted, figured out a much easier way afterwards, (scale both objects, bool, remove intersecting verts,scale down-scale method being all important)) with minimal geometry and using bridge tool to join, so the intersecting chamfer ends up with more detail and doesn’t effect the detail level of the existing objects, the whole point of dyntopo being only applying detail where needed to maintain minimal poly count.
But bridge-tool can’t handle multiple holes to fill(tries to join everything together as in the images below) so I dropped the idea in favour of retopo and multires

Some updates on this thingy.

Little union for object with mirror modifier to avoid interpenetrations.

Work for object alone or multiple objects, for the union button.

@pitiwazou

Oh my, Yes! That is pretty damn good.

I was messing around with something similar, but this is just remesh+Corrective smooth. What did you do?

remesh + smooth.

Hi all. This thread should be called to “dyntopo masters”. Such high quality work.

Ive been using an old computer for a long time and couldnt handle a lot of polygons (<500k). Now with an updated computer I can use more or less between 3 and 6 million faces with a bit of lag. I suppose I should retopo as much as I can and then resculpt, shouldnt I?

Another thing, is remesh+corrective smooth any good? I think for best results nothing beats remeshing/shrinkwrap by pieces and the joining (like old retopo).

Cheers.

ups double post. sorry :smiley:

I found the remesh + corrective smooth to be a lot better than remesh + shrinkwrap. That said if you are doing manual retopology shrink still works best with that.

This one was difficult for my level, but I did it !

Dyntopo is limited, but we can deal with that by using decimate.
The decimate result is as good as dyntopo sculpt with 3x, 4x, 5x less tris.
For retopo it’s great to make a decimate too.

That’s why in Speedsculpt I added a decimate mask, you paint your mask in dyntopo, you click and you have your decimate modifier with vertex groups to assigne the decimate where you want.
You can also inverse the decimate.

Wazou, that looks awesome!

Any place SpeedSculpt is avalable?

just stopping by.

Great works… nice & still going strong :slight_smile:

Still working on the addon and searching good workflows for Dyntopo.

If we are in sculpt mode with a mask, we can directly create a decimate using this mask like the previous gif.

If we are in object mode and we want create a decimate with mask, we create the decimate and click on Add mask, the addon put us in sculpt mode with the mask too.
We just have to mask some parts and press valid mask.

Nice blocking iceking :wink:

Very nice sketch !
And very good character design, it really has “character” in it.

@pitiwazou
Man, kudos to your hardwork, I can’t wait for the release, now that I’m super happy that I fixed the pen pressure problems I had with blender. Time to sculpt again!

more practice.
